well after few weeks using the new tripod, i guess im satified with it. except for the head (pan-head), i dont like it at all. i prefer the ball-head type.
i would say its a good buy. i did made a side by side comparison with manfrotto 190xprob, i'd say this velbon more sturdy & solid. i might be due to its aluminium tube construction which more 'big' in diameter.
the height also one of the advantages. the manfrotto short in few cm, even you extend the centre column.
the only dissapoiment is the non-standard 'head screw'. i have old manfrotto ball-head which i tried to fit to the velbon, but it cant. the velbon 'head screw' is small. after doing some googling, i found that only few 3-rd party can fit the velbon. alternatively, buy velbon ball-head, which quite expensive. so for the time being, i have to stick with the pan-head arghh
anyway, there's nothing wrong with the pan-head, it just me. im used to ball-head type hahaha
overall, im satisfied with the velbon. i recommend you to buy it as well. pricewise, at rm330, its a good buy. build quality is superb. seriously!!

New Stuff ;p
as i said last week, i've been hunting for bags, but unfortunately i might to 'k.i.v' my bag.
funny things, i bought a new tripod. after few years using manfrotto, i gave it away to azmil, and now im settled with velbon, although i dont like the head (its pan-head type), which i prefer the ball-head type. here's few photo of it hehehe
